If you’ve tried upgrading Windows Vista Enterprise to Windows 7 Enterprise or Professional you may have already discovered that Windows 7 will tell you that you cannot upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise. Windows 7 Enterprise Upgrade will tell you that only a fresh install is possible which will not take your current Vista Enterprise settings with. However there is a way to trick Windows 7 in to thinking you are running Windows Vista Business which is able to upgrade to Windows 7 Enterprise. The trick is to change two registry settings in Hkey Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Current Version You need to change the Edition ID and Product Name key. Change the word Enterprise to Business and then rerun the Windows 7 Enterprise setup. This time you can upgrade Windows Vista Enterprise to Windows 7 Enterprise.

Missing The Recycle Bin From Your Vista Desktop?If you right click the recycle bin on your Vista desktop and accidently choose Delete it will remove the recycle bin from the Vista desktop. You can restore the recycle bin to the desktop using the Personalization icon in the Windows Vista control panel. Simply find that icon in control panel and click “Change Desktop Icons” on the left pane”.

Then put a check in the checkbox for Recycle Bin and click Apply or Ok to restore the Vista recycle bin to your desktop.
