When you try and connect to a wifi network you may be having trouble and receive a wireless network error that says ” Windows was unable to find a certificate to logon you on to network “. To resolve this and get connected to your wireless network try the following steps.
Click Start, Programs, Accessories and Communications. Click Network Connections.
Alternately you can click Start, settings and right click Network Connections and choose properties.

Right click your wifi connection and choose properties.
Click the authentication tab and uncheck the option for “IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network”.

Once unchecked try and connect to your wifi network. You should now be able to connect to your wireless network without seeing the error Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to network.

One cool thing about iTunes is that it’s a mature product and vey popular. Because of these two facts there is alot to write about as it relates to iTunes. I decided to start a blog where I can find solutions to common iTunes errors that people encounter. Sometimes it’s faster to read someone’s blog post then searching the support site at Apple. So if I can help some folks while writing entertainment content about the latest itunes error so be it. These types of websites are also nice because there will never be an end to the stream of iTunes errors that customers will find. Because i’m a huge fan of my iPod and iTunes I also find this type of site very interesting to work on which helps stay motivated.

I recently had a problem on both my PC and laptop where the funtion keys stopped working properly. The F5 key would not do a refresh, the F7 key would not do a spell check. The F11 key would not do a print screen on my laptop. If I held down the FN + F11 on my laptop I could do the print screen. It seemed that instead of the F5 or other function keys doing their normal task, they used the alternate duty like F5 would Open or F7 would reply in an email. I fixed this by turning on the F-Lock key. On my Microsoft keyboard there is a key to the right of F12 called F Lock. When enabled the function keys work properly.

I tried to install a newer version of PHP last night and discovered that PHP5ISAPI.DLL was missing, completely gone and my web server would no longer show any PHP content. I even tried a few versions older and still the PHP5ISAPI.DLL was missing. After some messing around I learned that the folks who make PHP have discontinued using PHP5ISAPI.DLL and replaced it with something called FastCGI. You can get both FASTCGI and PHP installed at the Microsoft Web Platform Installer website. I still was not able to get it to work and needed my stuff back online so I uninstalled all PHP installs and just reinstalled an older one that will use ISAPI and my stuff is back online. I’ll try getting FASTCGI working with PHP on a test server before I attempt another PHP upgrade.

So you have the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer set to open TIF and TIFF files but when you try to open one in your IE browser it fails and you see QuickTime trying to open your TIFF files. Here’s how to stop QuickTime from trying to open TIFF or TIF files in your IE browser.
First start up QuickTime by clicking Start, Programs, Quicktime and then run Quicktime Player.
When QuickTime Player is open click Edit and click Preferences and QuickTime Preferences.
Click the Browser tab and click the MIME Settings button.
Click into the Images section and uncheck the box next to TIFF Image.
Click Ok
Click the File Types tab and verify that TIFF is also unchecked in there.
This should now cause your IE browser to use the Windows Picture And Fax Viewer when opening TIFF files.

Can’t Find The Mail Icon In Control Panel?
The mail icon may be missing from the control panel on your Vista 64 or other Windows operating system. There are two reasons that the mail icon may be missing from your control panel.

Missing Mail Icon Vista 64
If you run Windows Vista 64 bit your mail icon will be missing from the control panel. However if you look for an icon called “View 32 Bit Control Panel Items” and double click that icon you’ll find the mail icon inside that folder.

Missing Mail Icon Other Windows Operating Systems 32 bit XP or Vista
If the mail icon is missing from control panel on Windows XP or Windows Vista 32 bit this may indicate you’ve never setup an initial profile in Outlook by running the application. If you install Office and go right to control panel to setup a profile the mail icon will be missing. The mail icon is created in control panel the first time you run Outlook. So fire up Outlook then either create the profile with the wizard, or cancel the wizard and go back to control panel where you will find the icon.
